I've searched for years for information on the Old Isaac. He is the only one of 6 children that has remained a partial mystery. I suspect Isaac may have been ill or for some reason been unable to work. He is in the household of his brother Samuel on the 1850 Census of Jefferson County Alabama. Samuel is listed as a farmer but Isaac doesn't have an occupation (and he is younger than Samuel). Isaac spent at least some time in Pontotoc County Mississippi near his daughter Lettie. Part of the problem may be that Isaac's first wife died. I don't know what happened to his children, for he had several, but by the time children were listed by name in 1850, all his children were gone and he was living with his brother Samuel. I believe unless we can find an Estate Settlement, Bible Record or some other legally binding paper, we will still be in the dark. I believe I've written to your husband before trying to see if he had any more information than I do. I hope you're having some luck with John F Fields. I'm having really good luck for about the past 2 months on 2 of my Lines (not Fields). Good luck in your search, Rebecca
