I am also curious about whether there are any Lamar family descendants out there. My great grandmother, Mary Undine Brown's mother was a Mariah Lamar before marriage to Ransom H. Brown (married in 1836 in DeKalb Co., GA). Still trying to prove that Mariah and Ransom were in Pontotoc Co., problem being that they were probably there between census years - between 1850 and 1860. I know that Mariah had Lamar relatives who went to Pontotoc Co. and it seems logical that they might followed them there. I also think that Mariah (Lamar) Brown probably died in Pontotoc Co. between 1850 and 1860. Would like to know where she is buried. Is there anyone out there who has a lot of cemetery information?
