Hello The 1890 census was partly destroyed in a fire.
Does anyone have an Elizabeth Reid who married a Stevenson or Stephenson? How about anyone else with those surnames - perhaps in Prentiss or Lee counties? Jane

Hello everyone, I thought I would come out of the shadows and confess -- I'm a lurker!!!! LOL Well, I have to tell you, this is the most interesting thing that has happened to me in over a week, at least since I found some more folks on one of my lines.ha I never knew I was a lurker!!! Now that I'm out in the open, I just want to say that so far I haven't seen any of my names on this list and I've been "lurking" for quite a while.Maybe if I tell you who I'm looking for, I'll get lucky.lol My lines are mostly in Chickasaw, Calhoun and Webster. With Pontotoc right over their heads, I thought some of them might have extended outwards. Their names are: NICHOLS, JENNINGS, BLANSET, CLEMONS,CARLISLE, RICH,PEARSALL,SPRINGER AND NEAL. These are my main lines; of course, I'm also interested in any names that married into these lines. I'm also interested in any variations of these names. I had the opportunity to look at the 1900 Chickasaw recently and Blanset was spelled Blouchett.lol Thanks lots, Dawn Dykes Petz ccddpetz@ipa.net "Heinz 57 AMERICAN and PROUD of it"

Hi. My name is Donna Boyd from Culpeper, Va., and I'm researching (or put it this way -- trying to find ) Allens and Crittendens somewhere, anywhere! My husband's great-grandfather, James Harold Allen put on his service record for the 1st MS Cav. that his place of residence was Pontotoc, MS. I have no data on his parents, not even a name. So I am searching for him there, prior to 1873, when he turns up in Gatesville, TX, as a widower with a young son. His first wife was Jeffersonia Crittenden; you'd think a name like that would be easy to find, wouldn't you? WRONG. I have no info about her except the dates from her tombstone in Gatesville, Coryell Co., and her probate records. Figuring they married right after the war, I'm also looking for her and her family (father Wm. Crittenden, who took guardianship of young Jesse Allen on the death of his father in 1880.) in Pontotoc County, MS. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I could/should look, write, call? I would appreciate any guidance from anybody, as I am not familiar with MS records. I've been looking for this man for six years, but it seems like a century. Thanks in advance, Donna
I would be interested in the Little line that you have. My great grandmother was Cardelia Imore Little, born aug 2, 1866 in MS, Her father was James E. Little, born Aug. 26, 1826 in GA. Mother was Matilda Cook, born Mar 11, 1827 in NC. Any help would be appreciated. Norma
I have noticed a lot of people names Benjamin Franklin either as the full name or as the first and middle names , ie, my husband's granfather, Benjamin Franklin Moultrie . There are many repeats of this within the Moultrie family. I"m just a newbie.. but does anyone have information of a genetic link with Benjamin Franklin to the Franklins in this area or are these names just popular for that era. Beverley J. Moultrie
