    3. Hello, all. I'm new to this list. Richard, my grand-aunt Ida Bell WILSON married Thomas Moses STEGALL from TN, son of Thomas Wilson & Lucinda STEGALL. Anita, I looked at your webpage, we have the same JOHNSON/JOHNSTON line. Thomas H.J. & Mary Catharine (Johnston) Johnson had 5 sons born in Pontotoc Co., MS. After Thomas died Mary married Edward COMBS, they had 2 sons and 2 daughters. If you're interested, I'll be happy to share info with you. I have several generations on Sankey Thomas and also Eddie Peterson (my grandfather) Johnson's lines, also some on half-siblings. 3. Do you have Malinda Cullens (1827 - aft 1900) and her brother Richard in your line? Malinda was married to Jack Heard, who died in 1848. Malinda and Jack had children Shelton, Taylor, and John. Malinda never remarried as far as I can tell. 3. Shirley, I would love to correspond with you on GIBSON. GIBSON is my husband's line though I have been the one to research it. His GIBSONs were from VA, WV, KY and some in NC, etc.. I find his direct line (Grandfather & Grandmother) in WV, at last account though. If you are still interested, let me know. I will dig out the notes I have on them. My husband's grandfather was Harrison Taylor GIBSON who married (2) to Rosa Carolyn / Caroline SMITH in Wayne Co., WV. Which lines are your connections? 3. Yes, I am familiar with the Tutor family book. My cousin wrote the book and one can be found in the Pontotoc Co. Library as well as the Lafayette Co. Library. The book is not currently available for purchase but the author is keeping a list of people who want one and, hopefully, there may be another printing one day. Send your email address to wjenkins@dixie-net.com. Annice

    1. Re: [MSPONTOT] THANKS
    2. I enjoy the hard work that goes into maintaining this list. I appreciate all of the help on the location of Maxcy Cemetery, last week. I sent the person a personal note, but failed to let the list know that I had directions. I have belonged to this group since it was started. Have found several "Cousins" and appreciate all the help that I can get. It was great to know more about the Tupelo Trees, the Court House, Cemeteries, because I keep this in my database of 20,000+, for my family that once lived there. I love this area. That is why I belong to all of the other groups in different States. Regards, Georgia Hornbuckle Dallas, Texas

    2. Nadine
    3. Annice, Thank you so much. TUTOR: Carl TUTOR m. Myrtle (Myrtie) Pearl BROWN, lived their last years in Panola Co., MS. One researcher was kind enough to share this information with me: Carl TUTOR, the son of William Rufus TUTOR and L. Zera Elizabeth McGREGOR and grandson of Jefferson Davis TUTOR and Mary Frances HERNDON. Anything on this line would be wonderfully helpful. I was also told this information was from a book on the TUTOR family. Are you familiar with this book and do you know where I could buy a copy of this book if it is still available? As for STEWART, I will have to get back to you on this surname. It is a line through my son-in-law and again through my brother-in-law. There is a website which has information on my brother-in-law's line but my main interest is in my son-in-law's line. I am still gathering information from living relatives and will post back to you with leads as I compile them. What are your connections to these lines? I don't know how much help I can be with them but will share what I have. Again, thank you so much for your help. 3. Hi Shirley, The ONLY Suggs mention is on page 597 and just lists the name Dr. I. T. Suggs as being one of the doctors in the area. Virdie Bolen on page 248 is the only Bolen/Bolin name mentioned. Are either one of these yours? 2. Ludean Kidd
    3. Nadine, My Hugh M. Rodgers was born 7-26-1834, according to my information. My John W. Rodgers could have been John Wesley Rodgers, but I don't know. My grandfather was A. Wesley Rodgers, grandson of John W. Rodgers. The relatives whom I was in contact with were from Pontotoc County, but I know some of the relatives were from other counties in the area. My uncle, William Rufus Rodgers, supposedly died in Bruce, Mississippi. And I found some relatives living in Calhoun County in earlier years. My dad was born in Pontotoc County. I don't think any of my dad's immediate family were educated, don't know about the earlier families. Hope this helps you. Ludean
