Hello Shunqualak, MS is outside of Macon, MS on Highway45. Highway 45 goes right thru the town. It was once a cotton growing town in it hey days. I was told the reason it is called Shunqualak because the dirt is sweet. The Native American called the place Shunqualak. The population now is about 500. The center of town has been closed fro many years. You can still see the E. F Nunn business building and one of the cotton warehouse.
