    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Thomas, Haynes Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/QKB.2ACI/25.52.1.4.1.2 Message Board Post: Paticia, I searched through my grandmother's notes and found little on Henry H. Thomas. I found some notes on his family, but do not know who wrote them originally or the date. This person lists Henry H. as son of Henry. The notes begin with "The following is short sketches of Henry Thomas (my grate grandfather) childrens life." (Think this should be great, great grandfather.) "Henry H. Thomas, my uncle" (should be "great uncle") "Born 1812 Richmond Co., NC Died 1865. Had a good education. He studied military tactics and became a Southern Col. Headed a army to Texas and was in some pretty hot engagements. Married Miss Sarah Haynes of Summerville, Miss. He gained the day in Texas for the South. I do not know his children's names." Whoever wrote this named Robert Thomas, "yougest son of Henry and Ester Thomas" as his or her father. I will keep looking for more info on your Henry H. FYI: My Thomas ancestors are somehow related to yours but I need to study this more. THey were from Richmond and Rockingham Cos., NC. My descent is as follows: Simon Thomas & Susanna Sands Daniel Thomas & Sarah Covington Elijah Thomas & Rachel Roe Henry T. Thomas & Ann J. Love (Henry moved to Noxubee) Capt. Charles Murrah Thomas & Rachel La Dosca Chambers Charles Murrah Thomas II & Annie C. McGraw
