    3. Noxubee County, MS Probate Court Minutes Vol. A 1834-1870) 5 Jul 1842 pg. 159 This day came into open court Joseph L. HUNTER and presented a transcript properly authenticated the last will and Testament of Jehu STEWART deceased and the executor named in said will having announced the execution of the same in this state and the said Joseph L. HUNTER having made application for letters upon said estate with the will annexed. It is therefore considered by the court that the said Joseph L. HUNTER be granted letters of administration upon said estate with the will annexed by his entering with bond and two securities in the sum of eight hundred dollars. Upon the petition of John INGRAM? citation is adma? to issue notifying all persons interested to be and appear before the Judge of our Probate Court on the first Monday in September next to show cause if any why the administration with the will annexed of Jehu STEWART dec'd. shall not make titles to the said John LAPAU? to the following real estate to wit. Lots No. 4 and 7 from section no. 15 Township 14 Range 17 also SW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 15, Township 14, Range 17 East 5 Sep 1842 pg. 164 Citation having issued at the July term of this court notifying all persons interested in the real estate belonging to Jehu STEWART deceased to hand personally appear before the Judge of our probate court to show cause if any why the administration with the will annexed shall not make titles to John LAGRONE? to the following real estate to wit: Lots No. 4 and 7 , Section 15 and 14 Range 17 East also SW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 Section 15, township 14 Range 17 East according to the tenor and effect of a bond for titles filed in this office by said LAGRONE made by the said deceased in his lifetime. It is therefore ordered by the court that Joseph L. HUNTER the administrator with the will annexed make and convey unto the said John LAGRONE titles for the aforesaid land according to the provisions of said bond filed in office. 3 Oct 1842 pg. 166 This day came into open court Rederick? B. BRIDGERS and made application for letters of administration in the estate of John W. BARNES dec'd. which is granted and he has given bond and security and the same received and further ordered that ? Hardy James TUBBS and Samuel SHAW be appointed appraisers of the goods, chattels and personal estate of said dec'd. 24 Nov 1842 pg. 173 This day came into open court Jethro ATKINSON who made application for letters of administration on the estate of Henry M. ATKINSON dec'd. which is granted upon his entering into Bond and security in the sum of ten thousand which he die with Alfred BRIDGES his securities and is ??--?? as such administrator. Ordered that Fleming T. COLBERT, Abel J. TAYLOR, Solomon EDWARDS be and they are hereby appointed appraisers of the personal property of Henry M. ATKINSON dec'd. This day came into open court Alfred BRIDGES who made application for letters of administration upon the estate of Caroline L. ATKINSON which is granted upon his entering into bond and security according to law in the sum of ten thousand dollars which he did with Jethro ATKINSON and his securities and is qualified as such administrator. Ordered that Fleming T. COLBERT, Abel J. TAYLOR and Solomon EDWARDS be and they are hereby appointed appraisers of the personal estate of Caroline J. ATKINSON dec'd. Ordered that the administrator of Henry M. ATKINSON dec'd sell the personal property belonging to said estate. Ordered that the administrator of Caroline J. MAY and made application for letters of administration with the will annexed. It is therefore ordered that the said Eliza S. COLBERT, and Thomas H. DIXON be and they are hereby appointed appraisers of the goods , chattels, and credits of Diana HAWKINS, dec'd. 1 Jul 1844 pg. 232 Ordered that citation issue to all persons interested in the estate of Henry M. ATKINSON to be and personally appear before the Judge of our Probate court at a regular term thereof to be held on the first Monday in September and then to show cause if any why the administrator of said dec'd should not make final settlement on that day. ATKINSON and after previous notice published in the Independent, a newspaper published in the Town of Macon according to Law and after having presented his vouchers and claims, they being examined and allowed as stated it is ordered adjudged and decreed that the said administrator be hence discharged and that his securities and active bond be cancelled and be stated of non effect upon his paying over the amount due by him to the proper heirs of said Henry M. ATKINSON deceased to wit the sum of $5908.52 8 Oct 1844 pg. 239 Ordered that the final settlement of the estate of Caroline J. ATKINSON dec'd be postponed until first Monday December next 7 Jan 1845 pg. 251 Ordered that R. B. BRIDGES administrator of John W. BARNES dec'd sell the negroes belonging to said estate according to the statute in such can made and provided pg. 254 Ordered by the court that a summons issue to the Sheriff of Noxubee County commanding him to cite Joseph L. HUNTER guardian of the minor heirs of William BENNETT late of Noxubee County, dec'd, to come forward and on or before the first Monday of February next and make full and complete return of his actings and doings as such guardian otherwise he will be attached and fined in pursuance of the statute in such case made and provided. Ordered that the final settlements of the estate of Caroline J. ATKINSON be continued until the first Monday February next. 3 Feb 1845 pg. 259 Be it remembered on this day according to previous legal notice published in the Independent a newspaper published in the town of Macon in said county came into open court Alfred BRIDGES administrator of all and singular the goods and chattels rights and credits of Caroline J. ATKINSON late of said county dec'd and presented his account with the following vouchers for allowance to court : Voucher No. 1 -- Being and paid Jethro ATKINSON on 27 Sep 1842 for the sum of $2156.82 as ordered to be allowed Voucher No. 2 -- Amount paid Jethro ATKINSON guardian of W.H. ATKINSON on 27th day of September 1843 for the sum of $2156.82 is ordered by the court to be allowed. Voucher No. 3 -- amount paid Mary A. ATKINSON on the 4 Jul 1844 for the sum of $924.35 is ordered and adjudged by the court to be allowed. It is ordered that the administrator be allowed the sum of $65 the costs of settling up said estate And it appearing to the court that the administrator has received the sum of $7581.18 and paid out $5302.79 this distribution share being $2156.82 which leaves a balance of $121.37 in his hands it is therefore ordered and considered by the court that said administrator pay over said sum of $121.37 equally according to their respective shares the amount aforesaid and upon so doing that he be discharged from the futher administration of said estate and go hence and c... Ordered that the return of Joseph L. HUNTER guardian of the minor heirs of William BENNETT dec'd be and the same is hereby rec'd and ordered to be recorded. 4 Feb 1845 pg. 273 That a citation issue to the sheriff of Noxubee county commanding him to summon Bennett ATKINSON administrator of Foster GANDY late of said county dec'd to be and appear before the Judge of our said court on the first Monday of March next to file his return of his actings and doings as such administrator otherwise he will be attached and fined according to the statute in such cases made and provided. 8 Feb 1845 pg. 281 Joseph H. PARK applied for letters of administration of John B. PARK dec'd and for right to sell present crop of cotton. 22 Feb 1845 pg. 282 Mrs. Huldah J. PARK filed petition that citation to Joseph W. PARK administrator of John B. PARK 3 Mar 1845 pg. 284 That citation be made in the Independent a newspaper published in the Town of Macon for ??--?? day notifying all persons interested in the estate of Foster GANDY dec'd to come forward on Saturday 3rd day of May next and then and them show cause if any why the account and vouchers now filed in office by the administrator of said dec'd should not be received on his fianl settlements of said estated. 3 May 1845 pg. 318 This day came into open court Bennett ATKINSON administrator of Foster GANDY dec'd according to previous legal notice published in the weekly Indedpendent a newspaper published in the Town of Macon said county and presented his account and vouchers for final setlement of said estate and it appearing that said account is sustained by the vouchers and that them a--??-- to be due the administrator the sum of seven hundred and forty three dollars and 7 / 100 It is ---?? --?? ordered and adjudged by the court that said estate is justly due said administrator the said sum of $743.04 and he is discharged from the --??-- administration of said estate and go hence and c. 1 Oct 1845 pg. 353 This day came into open court R.B. BRIDGERS administrator of John W. BARNES dec'd and filed his appraisal and vouchers for final settlement of said estate and after being examined and stated is ordered that publication be made in the weekly Independent a newspaper published in the town of Macon notifying all persons interested in said estate to be and appear before the Judge of our said cout at a special Term then to be held at the 25th day of Oct next to show cause if any why said appraisal and vouchers shall with allowed and final settlement of said estate made.
