The road in front of the Church is in Noxubee. People from both counties are buried there. Church Services are held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month. The first week of April has been designated as cleanup, fixup week at Yellow Creek. Men are coming, some staying at a nearby Deer Camp. They are going to tear out the floor of the Church and see about the foundation, etc. If time and personnel are available, other jobs around the Church and Cemetery are going to be tackled. Volunteers are welcome. Food, cooked and uncooked, is being solicited by the women of the Church and Community to feed the men at the Deer Camp. A very worth while project. Yellow Creek Church (although the minutes have not been found) started in the either the late 1840s or early 1850s. The first burials in the Cemetery are from 1850s. The cemetery is in The Cemeteries of Winston County, pages 398-401. Directions: From Louisville city Limits sign on Highway 14 go east for 6.8 miles. Turn left on Yellow Creek Road at Easley's Grocery. Continue for 7.5 miles and turn left on an unmarked dirt road. Go .3 of a mile and the Church is on the left and the cemetery is behind it. Hope this helps. Louis Taunton kinfindr@telepak.net
