Does any one have any information on an 1880s storm that spawned a tornado in the area of Macon? As I understand it, the storm did tremendous damage. I'm particularly interested in locating news accounts--if any still exist--for my great-great grandmother Sarah Alice Blackwell, then about 10 or 12 years old, was swept up the wind and thrown quite some distance, landing against a box car and amazingly uninjured. And info, pointers, or ideas out there?
