The Macon Beacon probably had stories. My mother, Augusta Eichelberger, was born in Noxubee County (Mashoulaville) in 1908 and she grew up hearing stories about an awesome tornado that struck the area in the late 1800's. Her father, John Albert Eichelberger, was a young man at the time and he told her that after the storm, one side of their barn was full of pine needles that were stuck straight in. I remember another story about a person who was impaled by some flying object, but I'm fuzzy on the details. Charlotte Herridge G.F. And info, pointers, or ideas out there?
