A lady by the name of Angie has been spaming the Ancestry/Rootsweb board with her message trying to lure people to her commercial site. She is violating the Ancestry/RootsWeb message board rules. Her site is a "commercial site" and if she is this rude with her spam I would hesitate to trust her or her website. Go to it at your own risk.
Can anyone tell me how I might be able to reach Lucille Reeves? She corresponded with my Mother several years ago and lived in Macon at the time and wrote articles for the Noxubee historical bulletin. I have some info I'd like to share with her, possibly regarding Samuel Davidson Chambers. Thanks! Catherine Cooper ccooper902@aol.com

The ONLY info we have on Tom Glass is: our ancestor James J Monroe, a lawyer, and a widower in Newton Co MS, married a Mrs. Glass, who had a son Tom when he married her,in 1862. These are the only words we have. The 12 children of James Monroe and his first wife, and the son of James and Mrs. Glass Monroe, came to TX in 1872 without Tom. I was hoping with the internet message boards to locate Tom. Thanks again, Fran

I do not know what county the Glass family may have been from, I just know there were not many in Newton Co., where my James J Monroe lived. He was a prominent lawyer, then a senator when his 1st wife died in 1861, leaving him with 12 children. He may have had to go to a neighboring county to find a wife, and she must have been a widow with her son Tom, but evidently still child bearing age because she had a son Walter Lee Monroe in 1863, then she died. James Monroe died in 1867 and the 13 Monroe children came to TX in 1872, without step-brother Tom Glass. He may have been in an older married sister or grandfather's household in 1870, age at least 9 yrs. I know one way to find someone is to rule out those he CAN'T be, so ANY info is a CLUE, and I thank you so much for the time. Since I live in TX I don't have the freedom to research in MS as much as I would like. Do you have access to older newspapers, specifically the Meridian M! ercury? This is the paper that served Newton Co in the 1860's, and I'm looking for obits. Thanks again, Fran

He is living alone. I could not find him in the Tombstone Transcriptions of Noxubee County. I found a Thomas Glass married to a Lucy A.K. Taylor on Dec 19 1854. As I go through the 1880 census, I will keep an eye out for him and see if he shows up there. Hope this helps.
