Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/QKB.2ACI/391.1 Message Board Post: I have a great deal of information in the book which I published about two years ago about the Koons. My book, Mississippi Ozarks, is a 300+ page account of the history of Dry Creek Mississippi -covers 150 years of information gleaned from newspapers in Tippah and Prentiss County, Ms. and from library, courthouse and local history. The Koon family were here for most of those years and still today descendants are to be found here. The book has over 80 years of week by week community history from two Newspapers in Ripley and Booneville and many references to the Koons are to be found. I have the complete cemetery lists in the book for 11 community cemeteries and the County Line Cemetery near where most of the Koons lived has 11 Koons listed: Daniel F.;David L. ,Edna M., Florence, George, George A.,J. Wade, Jennie; Jettie M. Margaret Ellen, and William Arthur. In the Paul's Chapel Methodist cemetery there is a Roxie Effie Koon, and in Concord Baptist Church cemetery which I pas! tor there are three Koons; Edgar Jr. , Edgar and Emmie Green Koon. I have the obituary for E. W. Koon, father of your Arvard Ray. He had 3 brothers, Edgar Mark of Lebanon, Tn., Akron M. of Quantico Marine Base, Va. and Henry B. of Univ. of Ms.; two sisters, Mrs. Nelda Grisham of Memphis and Mrs. Vertis Kelly of Booneville, MS. The complete obit is on page 224 of my book which can be found in all surrounding libraries in Alcorn, Union, Tippah, Prentiss and Lee County as well as the State Archives. I do have some books left and am considering a third printing.

    2. Belle Sealey can email me but every time I reply it bounces back to me. I am not sure what the problem is but I have info on Emmitt Dantzler. If she can read this, then I will post here instead to her email address. Maybe someone else can forward this to her. Emmett Dantzler was the son of John Lewis Dantzler Jr. and the grandson of John Lewis Dantzler Sr. John L. Sr. was the first Dantzler to come to MS. He was one of the pioneers of Greene County, MS. In 1841, he moved to Noxubee County settling near Center Point. I have more on this family and what is in the 1870 census that she might be interested in. Caren
