Also in the 1830 West Feliciana Parrish, LA census were several Bryant families. James gave his parents birthplace as KY for father & SC/MS for mother. Some of the Fulliloves from GA & Al went to LA so would love to know if James Bryant also had relatives there. I know there were some in Noxubee as well. It seems I find the same people everywhere I look!! Cindy

Surnames: Fullilove, King, Law, Laws, Taylor, Greer, Wade, Bryant, Bryan Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/QKB.2ACI/396 Message Board Post: Hi! I'm researching the above surnames from Oglethorpe co.,GA>Autauga Co.,AL>Carroll co.,MS. Just by chance I found 2 Fulliloves in the 1840 & 1850 Nox. census. I wandered onto the web page & saw the Greer name. Well that's a Fullilove name too! Lucy Greer married 1803 to John Tatum Fullilove. His son Thomas married Mary Adeline Taylor in AL & they moved on to Carroll co.,MS. Another son David Fullilove was in the 1850 Noxubee census but later also moved on to Carroll Co. I don't know who the Jas. C. Fullilove in the 1840 census is, yet. It's rather complicated but Mary Adeline Taylor was her husbands cousin, as her parents were John Fullilove Taylor & Sally Arnold. John Fullilove Taylor's parents were Benjamin Taylor & Susannah Fullilove. All these families are very tangled! Sally Arnold married William King in 1837 after her husband died. I believe my ancestor was their daughter Anna b. 1838 AL. To make matters worse I'm looking for the parents of 3 orphan Laws children whose mother supposedly was Ann Taylor/King . Somehow the Law family of Oglethorpe Co.,Ga fits in here. I know the family of Lott Laws was in Lowndes Co.,MS & a John Law was on the 1860 slave schedule for Noxubee but I can't find him on the regular census. by 1870 my 3 were orphans & the scattered amongst relatives (Taylors, Fulliloves, Wade, Bryan(t) ) thanks for any insight or clues!! 1. [MSNOXUBE] Early land owners
    2. Dear Listers, I am interested in the family of Alexander Penny, who arrived in Noxubee County ca. 1836, from Wake County, NC. My specific question is: How did the early settlers acquire their land titles? I know that Noxubee was the first county formed from the Choctaw lands after the Choctaw Session of 1830, but don't know whether the first land owners acquired title through a land lottery, by grant from the US or the State of MS, or what. Do the county Deed books cover these early transactions? Assuming that Alexander Penny had land, I want to learn when he got it and when he sold it. Any help will be much appreciated by Rick Sherman Kensington, CA

    1. Re: [MSNOXUBE] E.A.J. McHenry, Son of Spencer and Elizabeth McHenry
    2. Troy Harper
    3. My 3g-grandfather's dau, Lucinda (Harper) Paulette's second husband was Spencer McHenry. They were married in Nox. Co. Could this be the same Spencer McHenry as yours? If so, this would be his second marriage, according to your data. Here is a brief genealogy report. Descendants of Lucinda Harper Generation No. 1 1. LUCINDA5 HARPER (ROBERT4, JOSIAH3, JOSEPH2, JOHN1) was born August 15, 1826 in AL(1), and died October 01, 1914 in Noxubee Co., MS(2). She married (1) THOMAS B. PAULETTE, SR. Bef. November 1845. He was born 1816 in VA(3), and died 1859 in Noxubee Co., MS(4). She married (2) SPENCER MCHENRY May 19, 1863 in Noxubee Co., MS(5). He was born March 02, 1806, and died September 28, 1869 in Noxubee Co., MS(6). Notes for LUCINDA HARPER: Lucinda obviously was the daughter of Sarah Hewitt Harper, Robert's second spouse.. The Tuscaloosa County Orphan's Court (Book 2, page 171) on Feb. 8, 1842 appointed William W. Bacher(sp?) as her guardian when her father's estate administrators petitioned to sell and divide inherited property. Assuming that 18 years was the age of majority, Lucinda would have had to have been born after Feb. 8, 1824. Her father, Robert, married Sarah in January 1926. By November 1845, Lucinda had married a POLLOTT(sic) (Orphans Court bood 3, pp. 67-68) and was given her share of her father's estate. If Lucinda was born after Jan. 1926, she could have been 17-18 in 1845. That was old enough to be married. Later evidence shows that the Orphans Court reference to Pollott most likely is a phonetic attempt at PAULETTE because we found Lucinda Paulette in Noxubee Co., MS census later, and in one case, her mother was in the household. Children of LUCINDA HARPER and THOMAS PAULETTE are: i. SARAH6 PAULETTE, b. Bet. 1844 - 1845. ii. THOMAS B. PAULETTE, JR., b. December 02, 1847, Noxubee Co., MS; d. March 05, 1911(6). iii. VIRGINIA PAULETTE, b. Bet. 1850 - 1851. iv. JOHN W. PAULETTE, b. September 21, 18537; d. April 12, 1917(7). More About JOHN W. PAULETTE: Burial: Odd Fellows Cemetery, Macon, MS Endnotes 1.
