Thank you Grace, I had some of the children, but not all. Francis (Franklin) was my Great Uncle. His father was Francis S. Smith, b: about 1807, and mother Eliza. She was the 2 nd wife. Have never been able to find a marriage record for them. I believe they were living in Scott Co. at the time and moved to Newton later. They are all buried in the Rock Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. I live in New Mexico and impossible to get there to do any research. Very thankful for your help. Bev
Thanks, Frances. Grace

Mary, further checking of the 1900 census gave me: Victoria Lainge, Head, 62, WD, 7 children total, 2 living, PA, PA, NY Walter, son, 34, S, MS Duncan, son, 43,S, LA Walter married by 1906, when his son Wm R was born, per the 1910 census I sent you earlier. Dunken, a Widower, was living with with Walter and their mother on the 1910. Their mother had a total of 7 children, and only 2 were living in 1900, Walter and Duncan, so Robert age 9 on the 1870 Ohio census must have died between 1870-1900. He could have had children, if he lived past 1880, but where? Ohio? Or were they back in MS by then? I haven't found the family on the 1880 census yet. And we know there was very little of the 1890 census that wasn't burned in an accidental fire in the 1920s. Fran Bolton
I am interested in your McMullen/Smith connection. I have a Frances (Frank) Smith married to a McMullen. Would you share what you have? Bev Barlow
Gaylynn, I am not familiar with the Denhams of Perry County, My wifes' greatgrandmother was from Newton County is all I know . Thanks for your response. Mike email address: mstout7036@aol.com
I'm pretty sure the s was on the name when they came to America. I have come across some that were in Alabama and maybe South Carolina, deep south at any rate, and they spelled Greenlee with an s on the end. I've not found it in our direct line. The DJN Greenlee, my husband's great grandfather, was the son of Hugh Greenlee and Catharine Shoemaker (Shumaker) and we think Hugh was the son of a David Greenlee, born in NC. Hugh and his brother, John David Greenlee, were both born in NC also. On the 1850 census for Choctaw Co., MS there was a David Greenlee, 78 years old, born NC, living with John Greenlee. I would love to learn more about the family back in NC. When my McElroys came to America in 1729, there was a James Greenlee on the ship. After he had been here a few years he married Mary Elizabeth McDowell, which we "think" was a cousin of our McElroy imigrant. So, I really think this is the same Greenlee family, but haven't proven it yet. This is what makes genealogy fun!!! Thanks for writing. My husband's grandfather was David Clarence Greenlee. He was born November 20, 1871, in Newton Co., MS. D C Greenlee married Hannah Carolina Lisenbe, November 22, 1894, in Kemper Co., MS.After their first child was born in 1895, they moved to Stephens Co., TX to be near his mother, Eliza Winnefred, and his brother James William (Jim) Greenlee. Eliza, Jim, and David came to TX and bought land. They had some sisters already living in TX. Only one sister remained in MS.
