Do you have any Goodson in the marriage book or the cemetery book? Charles Goodson
Hi, The marriages book shows the following: Dempsey R. Pace married to Mollie E. Langford on Nov. 17, 1877. There is also a marriage for D. H. (Parker) Pace to Viola McCarty on Oct. 8, 1901. The cemetery book shows the following: Dempsey Pace 2/4/1805 - 6/4/1875 Lilla Ann Pace 9/2/1812 - 8/4/1881 They are buried next to each other in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery located in T7N, R10E, S15. There are quite a few other Pace markers in the cemetery. Let me know if you'd like those. Is Dempsey related to the Pace family of Noxubee Co., MS who came from Greene Co., AL? Sylvia, what time period are ypu looking at? In checking the census records for O Jackson Holyfield, I found only one that was close, indexed as John C Holyfield. In looking at the actual census page, the name was written over, and all I can really make out for sure is that the first name starts with J, and the middle initial could be O. I realize John C is not O Jackson, but I have learned that you need to look at EVERY possibly match, no matter how remote it appears at first, and with the name being written over...it should be considered deserving a closer look. Do you have O Jackson's wife or children?
