    1. [MSNESHOB] GRIFFIN families of Neshoba County
    2. Debi Griffin Campbell
    3. Hi, Y'all: I've been researching the GRIFFINS of Neshoba county (among other connected families) and have come upon a few stumbling blocks (shock!). ha... My gggrandparents were Daniel Boone GRIFFIN and Nancy T. RHODES. Daniel was born 19 Mar 1802 in Orangeburg co., South Carolina. Nancy was born about 1804 in Georgia. They were married on 26 Feb 1827 in Greene co., Alabama, and lived there a few years before returning to Georgia. About 1854, Daniel, Nancy, and their 8 children were part of a wagon train that moved into the Neshoba county, Mississippi area. The ATKINS were also in that group. Daniel and Nancy's children were James Andrew GRIFFIN (b. abt 1829), William M. "Bill" GRIFFIN (b. 30 Jul 1831), Daniel Rowan GRIFFIN (b. abt 1834), Ira Lewis "L" GRIFFIN (b. 23 Sep 1836), Thomas D. GRIFFIN (b. abt 1841), John Jefferson GRIFFIN (b. 25 Nov 1842 -- my great-grandpa), Avery Cylvanus GRIFFIN (b. abt 1846), and Martha Ann Sophronia GRIFFIN (b. 25 Nov 1848). I've got most of the info I need on John Jefferson GRIFFIN's descendants, but I am anxious to learn more about the children of his siblings, particularly the females. As you know, following the trail of female members of the family can be a little tricky. So, for this email, I think I'll focus on the eldest son, James Andrew GRIFFIN. James married Mary Elizabeth ADKINS on 24 Dec 1851 in Henry co., Georgia. They had the following children: Francis A. GRIFFIN, b. abt 1853 Elizabeth J. GRIFFIN, b. abt 1854 Catherine A. T. GRIFFIN, b. abt 1856 Cordelia A. A. GRIFFIN, b. abt 1858 Thomas D. GRIFFIN, b. Jul 1861 Nancy P. GRIFFIN, b. abt 1862 James J. GRIFFIN, b. abt 1864 Luziah/Liziah GRIFFIN, b. abt 1869. I know that Thomas married Elizabeth H. WEBB about 1881 in Neshoba county. They had at least three children: Ida (b. 1894), Ivan (b. 1896), and Irvin (b. 1898). Does anybody have information on any of the people I have listed above? Who did the females marry? Any help is appreciated, and I'll be happy to share what I have found on the ones not listed above (i.e., children of the other siblings). Thanks so much! Debi Griffin Campbell
