    3. Hi! Wow! Thanks for getting in touch with me! Actually, the Elizabeth I'm searching for is the grandmother of Carl Gaston PULLIN, but I needed the information you sent, too! What were the names of Carl Gaston and Lena Elizabeth's 7 children? Carl's father was Maron Auston PULLEN, son of Mary Jane PULLEN and ... get this... her brother-in-law, George RIGDON. Mary Jane's sister Amanda was married to George at the time. Mary Jane was living with them. One day, while George was plowing out in the fields, Mary Jane went to take him some water... and returned two hours later. When she turned up pregnant, Amanda really read her the riot act about being such a bad person, getting pregnant out of wedlock. Mary Jane told her not to get so uppity... George was the baby's father! Well, Amanda kicked Mary Jane out, so Mary Jane went to live with her brother Jesse. The two sisters did not speak to each other again, I am told. I have the full story written down. If you'd like a copy, I can mail it to you. I also have photos of George RIGDON and wife Amanda PULLEN, plus one of Jesse PULLEN and one of Mary Jane PULLEN and her husband John Jefferson GRIFFIN. Quite an interesting bunch.... Family "legend" has it that the spelling difference came over liquor... one bunch of the family didn't drink, and one bunch did. So one of the two spelled their names PULLIN and the other chose PULLEN. I have no way of documenting that, other than the fact that my grandfather Harmon Rannels GRIFFIN and his sister Onie told me that story in the 1970s. All I know of Maron Austin PULLEN (and I have a picture of him with Carl Gaston, Carl's son and grandson), b. 11 Aug 1879 in Duffy or Little Rock, Neshoba, MS; d. 31 Mar 1963) is that he married Rosie RICHARDSON (b. Sep 1881 in MS) and they had Leslie PULLEN (b. Jul 1898) and Carl Gaston PULLEN (b. Feb 1900 in Neshoba co.; d. 1989 in Union, Neshoba, MS). Do you know anything about Leslie? Were there other siblings? Thank you so much for writing and sharing with me our family connection. It's always good to meet another "cousin." Let's keep in touch! Debi Griffin Campbell
