    1. [MSNESHOB] Vada Walton - my grandmother
    2. Does anyone have any listing for La Vada or Vada Walton? She was born in the Philadelphia area in the late 1800s. She had several brothers and sisters. Her father was John C. Walton. My grandmother died in Meridian in 1973. Thank you very much, Sally Hicks The earth which sustains humanity, must not be injured, it must not be destroyed. Hildegarde of Bingen

    3. As a matter of fact, I had two aunts by marriage with the last name of Walton. One was an Ollie Walton and the other was Oma Walton. They were sisters and these two sisters married two of my father's brothers whose last name was Johnson. They must have lived in the Coldwater community, out from Philadelphia and near the Fairgrounds, because I have a list of students at the Coldwater School during the early 1900's, and there were three Walton girls listed. My grandfather, John R. Johnson, was one of the Trustees of the school. I will look at the list again as soon as I get a chance and see what the other Walton girl's name was. 3. I'm sure these names are probably not going to help you in any way, but I did finally locate the listing of "Pupils - Cold Water School, Philadelphia, Miss., Term 1908-1909." There were three Walton girls listed, two of whom became my aunts by marriage as they married two of my father's brothers. The names were Oma Walton, Ollie Walton and Mittie Walton. Lyda Majure was the teacher and my grandfather, John R. Johnson, was one of the Trustees, along with a B. F. Graham and another name which was not legible. Oma Walton married my uncle, Bob Johnson, and Ollie Walton married my uncle, Jim Johnson. My father was not in this school as he was born in 1885 and got married in 1909 to my mother, Elizabeth Gertrude (Trudy) Gilbert. 3. Oh, I'm sorry, there was one more Walton girl - a Nettie Walton. Also, I was thinking maybe I should list the rest of the pupils. There was Kips Harrison, George Harrison, Lewis Yates, Lester Yates, Robert Cannon, Irvin Trapp, my three uncles - Joe, Jim and Bob Johnson, Roy Kennedy, Alva Kennedy, Grady Cannon, Claudie Whittington, and Caraway Cannon. For the girls, there was Oma Walton, Ollie Walton, Mittie Walton, Nettie Walton, Alma Cannon, Ethel Cannon, Stella Yates, Jewelle Graham, Pauline Johnson (not related to me that I know of), Nola Trapp, Clara Harrison, Alma Johnson (my aunt - she married a Dan McDonald), Mary Kennedy and Georgia Whittington.
