Not necessarily. I believe the John McKee who died before 24 July 1799 in Chester County, South Carolina is possibly the son of the William McKee who arrive in North Carolina from Ireland aboard the Brigantine Free Mason unfortunately what I am looking at does not show the date. There was a wealthy land owner named William McKee who lived in Mechlenberg County, NC and had a son John who lived in Chester County, SC. It is entirely possible that the grandchildren of this William McKee could have visited their family in Ireland. All of this is however speculation, as I have not had the time to research the records of North Carolina to compare with South Carolina to reach any conclusions. Marleen Van Horne
