Hi group, Just wanted to pass on this message from the Bibb County Mailing List about the problem with the Ancestry.com. It gives some ideas on who to call and what to do. It is not just an aol problem now. Many web browsers are having difficulties from what I understand. Here's the message: Hi folks, This is not the first time I have been unable to connect to Ancestry.com, and I have on occasion, had trouble working within the website. I emailed my complaint to <<<<http://support@ancestry-inc.com >>>> and I have this telephone number 1-801-431-5220. I have no idea what time table Ancestry is on. It could be Mountain Time. I also went to KEYWORD and typed in SYSTEM RESPONSE, and reported my problem to AOL, as being unable to connect to Internet Worldwide Web Access. I repeated both exercises several times. Peg
Hi Group, Since the Surnames search is tied to the Ancestry Query boards, I thought I would put a surname page on the Neshoba Web. If you would like to be included on this page, please send me your Neshoba surnames. I'll be happy to post them for you. You can find the link under "Surnames". I've already posted some names, so check to see if yours is there! Happy hunting & I hope you like the new page! Marsha Bryant Neshoba County GenWeb http://us-gen.org/ms/neshoba
Hi Group, Lisa Jones sent in this new link for research. It looks like a good one to me. I've placed it on the links page of the web. http://www.genealogyspot.com/ Happy Hunting, Marsha
Hi Groups, You might want to try out this site: http://images.gencircles.com/message/searcher It searches the GenForum boards AND the Ancestry boards! I will also put it on the "Links" page. Hi Groups, I'll be at a conference in Cape Cod for a week. I'll be back Friday night. If you have any information that needs to be added or changed to the web, I'll get to it next Saturday. I just didn't want anyone to think I was ignoring their requests. I hope ya'll are enjoying the new query boards. Marsha
Hi guys! The address of the Neshoba Query board is: http://www.us-gen.com/cgi-bin/neshoba/index.cgi You can find the link under Queries on: Kemper County: http://www.rootsweb.com/~msneshob/ Thanks for your patience! I had to change the name of the file, which changed it's location. Everything should be "GO" now! Marsha
Hi groups, Just a note to let you know that the boards are working. Please post your queries. If you have any trouble, please let me know where your difficulties are. Kristy and I have been checking, and the boards appear to be fine! Thanks so much for your patience and support! Marsha
Hi Groups, Just a quick note about the query boards: Kristy Williams and I are working on the query boards for our counties. Everytime we think we have things working, something goes wrong! Murphy's law is definately in effect! One minute you can post queries, the next minute, you can't even get to the board! One minute you can see everything, the next, the computer tells you the file doesn't exist. I have seen "Server Error" and 404, enough to last a lifetime!!!! The program is incredibly difficult for me to understand and Kristy, who is a wizard at webwork, is working 24-7 to try to figure out the crazy thing! There are still a few bugs in the system. Please don't give up on me! I WILL conquer this! We WILL have query boards that are just for you! If you submitted a query and it's vanished into cyberspace, it is not gone! It will reappear! Please continue to let me know what works and what doesn't. It is the only way that I can try to pinpoint the problems. Hi Group, Kristi Williams and I have been working to bring a new query board to Neshoba County. This board is housed on the Neshoba site. It will be run by me. It will not be sold or moved (like the old genweb boards). Please visit and post your queries. There are no login procedures. I'm still working on the "looks" of the board, but it works and is ready to accept new posts! If you sent me a message to post, I'll move it to the new board tomorrow. You will still have access to the Ancestry Boards. That link is still posted on the Query page. I hope you will enjoy YOUR new Neshoba Query Board! The address is: http://www.us-gen.com/cgi-bin/neshoba/index.pl
Hi Group, Helen Wedgworth sent in some "residents" of Hester Cemetery. Also she sent in a great picture of her Wedgeworth Civil War Ancestor! Find the links on What's new, Cemeteries or First Families! Thanks Helen! Marsha http://us-gen.com/ms/neshoba/
Hi Group, I will be posting wills, Bible records, pensions, etc. on the Neshoba website. If you have any you'd like to submit (or re-submit) to be posted on the Neshoba website, please send them to me. Sorry for the inconvenience. It was a surprise to all of us when all of the boards were combined. I am working on some options for the query board, but right now, the new board from Ancestry is the only board I am linked to. Bear with me, I'll let you know my progress! Marsha
Hi Groups, I just got this message yesterday from Rootweb concerning the GenConnect Boards (Query, Bios, Bible, Pensions, & Obituaries). >We have just completed the release of a new message board system which combines and replaces the GenConnect message boards on RootsWeb.com and the FamilyHistory.com message boards. < This means that there will no longer be 5 different message boards, just one. It will take just a bit to get used to, but you won't have to look 5 different places for information on the county. I will still place your records on my site if you choose, just as I have always done. To find the new board, all you have to do is go to the query page on my county site and click on the icon (puzzle piece). It will take you directly to the new board. If you have any difficulties, please let me know. Thanks, Marsha Bryant Kemper & Neshoba Counties, MS Bibb County, AL Co-CC for Warrick County, IN
I need to correct these two addresses http://www.segenealogy.com/mississippi/ms_censusmap.htm http://www.segenealogy.com/mississippi/ms_map.htm
These are really good sites for Census avalibility maps http://www.segenealogy.com/sgo03.htm http://www.segenealogy.com/sgo03_ms.htm http://www.segenealogy.com/kentucky/ms_censusmap.htm And County Formation Maps http://www.segenealogy.com/kentucky/ms_map.htm
Hi Groups, Just wanted to give you the following information from rootsweb. If you have any questions, let me know. I'll do my best to find answers for you. The genboards are: Queries, Bible, Obits, Bios, etc. Thanks, Marsha Bryant UsGenWeb Coordinator: Warrick County, IN Bibb County, AL Kemper & Neshoba Counties, MS RootsWeb.com regrets that the ability to post new information to the message boards, and the message board administrators' pages, are temporarily disabled while we transition to our new message board system, which will be available shortly. All previously-posted GenConnect messages are still available for you to search and view during this transition period. We recommend that if communication with a poster is urgent, you respond directly through an e-mail message. Otherwise, post a response once the boards have transitioned to the new system. The biggest and most exciting change to the new system is the combination of two powerful message board systems (i.e., GenConnect and FamilyHistory.com) into one -- users will be able to take advantage of a much larger community in which to share experience, tips, and genealogical information. The new message boards will be indexable by the major Internet search engines, and as a result queries, discussions, and helpful suggestions from the genealogical community will reach the widest possible audience.
Hi Group! Just a note to let you know that Susan Marston sent in the Land patents by surnames from 1820-1908 for Neshoba! Find the link on "What's New" or with the Deed page. Thanks Susan! Marsha Bryant Your Neshoba County Coordinator http://www.rootsweb.com/~msneshob/index.html
