    2. In writing to HHarvery@hot.rr.com regarding the above family, I included two pieces of information which did not appear in my reply to the website: 1) In the 1880, Neshoba Co., MS, p. 509 census, Adeline Davidson, sister-in-law, was living in the Lott Thomas Green household. 2) Based on the same census, it appears that Lott Thomas Green was born in MS, abt. 1856 and Caroline Davidson, in Georgia, abt. 1848. Just is case, this is helpful to someone else. Regards, Gerry R. Lee

    1. Re: [MSNESHOB] Nancy Green,James Green,(twins) and George Green
    2. I am not a Green descendant, but my 2nd great-grandmother, Louisa Jane Jones Hudson's [widow of CSA William David Hudson] second marriage was to James Green, father of Lott Thomas Green. [They were married November 27, 1870, Leake Co., MS.} In trying to search for information on Louisa Jane and James, I located 1870 and 1880 census records for Lott Thomas Green. They show: 1870, Leake Co., MS, p. 353, Lott Thomas was living with his father, mother [Elizabeth], and sister, Nancy. 1880, Neshoba Co., MS, HH#152/155, Lott Thomas appears with wife, Caroline Davidson; children, Columbus D. b. abt. 1875; George J. b. abt. 1876; and twins James W. and Nancy A., b. abt 1879. My records also show that Lott Thomas Green and Caroline Davidson were married in Leake Co., MS on August 20, 1874. I hope this is helpful to you, Harold. Any additional information regarding what happened in James and Louisa Jane Green will be most gratefully received. Geraldine R. Lee [Gerry]

    3. Harold, I am not sure if this is your Nancy Green but this one is listed as being born the same year as Lott and Caroline's marriage. I believe this Nannie (Nancy?) was first married to a Perryman (my surname) or her maiden name was a Perryman. Therefore take the information as only a possibility. I was given this Clarke County cemetery information by the kind Bennie White as follows: First, let me give you this from my Enterprise Cemetery compilation: (Concrete Border around family plot) Nannie GREEN DYESS 6 Feb 1876 16 Jan 1945 Levicia Elizabeth PERRYMAN 12 Sep 1860 3 Jan 1931 (FM) A. 3. I haven't transferred this note to my word documents so not sure if I replied yet. Your ideas are great. I also read all the messages. It is amazing how some small tidbit will trigger something you know you've read somewhere. Then of course you have to go find it and see if there is a connection, but often there is. I have been "learning" this research for 23 years now. My dad started me out when I was 12 yrs old on a visit to Salt Lake Utah to the "big library." When I discovered the internet a whole new world was opened. Don't give up. Just keep reading and searching. Pretty soon the puzzle starts coming together and it's really fun!!! 3. There's also a web site for Dancing Rabbit Press. It escapes me right now but I'll track it down if anyone is interested. However the contact address/phone is: 514 Poplar Ave, Philadelphia MS 39350-2554; 601-656-5309. Steven Stubbs wrote a great 1000 or so page book about the CW troops from Neshoba county,MS. Photos, names, stories, dates..... great resource. It's called Duty, Honor, Valor; The story of the Eleventh Mississippi Infantry Regiment. I got a signed copy before it was largely for sale and I'm still working through it. I find somethng interesting and go off on a tangent with that and then come back to the book. THe first day I had teh book I found three ancestors and since I have of course discovered more. Thanks for the tip on this other online bookstore. It looks very interesting! 3. The Rivers genealogy that I photocopied from the Neshoba Library in Philadelphia is titled, "Family of John Rivers of Neshoba and Newton Counties", dated October 1985, and was compiled by Mrs. Terry (Margaret) Rivers and Billy Flanagan. The cover sheet states: "This outline is an attempt to document all the descendants of John and Elizabeth Rivers who moved from Pike Co Georgia to Mississippi in 1836." This genealogy suggests two scenarios: 1) The James Monroe Rivers you have is from a line other than this one; or 2) The information on the James Monroe Rivers they have is incorrect. The James Monroe Rivers in this genealogy (the same one as listed in Ann's email) is listed as the son of Rev. Thomas Hayes Rivers (29 May 1853 - 11 Feb 1924). I suspect "your" James Monroe Rivers is from a different line. Susan Marston > I have James Monroe Rivers' first wife as Annie O. Sanders and children: > Willie Idoma > Jack > Mamie > Eula > Bell > Lillie > I have the father of James Monroe Rivers as Edgar Monroe Rivers and Nancy > Pearl Williams. > Is this right?
