    3. A lot of info. Thanks. I'll let you know if I make any connections with all of this! My Jones connections went between Deemer MS, just south of Philadelphia, and Millington, TN. Grandma won't confirm but she grins when I ask if her dad was not JUST a farmer! His still may be found in the trees in Millington to this day! But I digress. It appears a lot of these families came from Alabama to Mississippi. Has anyone on this list ever made a map picture? I think I'd like to do that but not sure how best to go about it. It is interesting to see the dates the families are listed on different censuses and since I'm a visual type person I'm hoping I will get a better picture of the travel patterns this way. 2. George Stuart
    3. Julie, My Neshoba Stuarts have been sometime spelled Stewart. The Stewart/Stuart DNA project family I matched back in VA mostly use the Stewart spelling. My William Davis Stuart states he was born in AL (1823) but I have not been able to find him anywhere in the state. He first appeared on the 1850 Winston Co., MS census as William "G" (the way it was transcribed) Stewart. It shows him, his wife, & 6 month old daughter all born in AL. By this I have assumed that he & Hannah Jones were married in AL, but have not found any records. Hannah's parents and siblings were in Neshoba Co in 1845. Her Uncle David Stainton's son, Lafayette Stainton was editor of the Neshoba Democrat in the early 1880's. The Staintons were in Monroe Co., AL before coming to Neshoba County and there are some Stuarts there also but I've never made a connection. The Deweese surname is well known in Neshoba Co. & I have a William M. Stuart that married Texanna Marshall back in 1879 in Neshoba Co. 3. Has anyone read the book "Blood on My Hands" It is about an affair between a Kilpatrick and a Breland and the Breland husband was murdered. It is a true story and I read it about 30 years ago. My grandmother told me about it. There was a copy at the Meridian Public Library at that time. The infant at the time in the book was George Breland. His mother tried to kill him in jail. He was an old man when I knew him back in the 60's. It was said in the community that he and Sybil Kilpatrick were siblings from the affair. The affair and murder happened about 1900. Kay

Also do not show this Joseph Breland m. to Mary Jane Bates, but must get this book for more research as on my husband's Mother side of the family list many Bates (like 60) and no burial sites or death dates for most of them. George Ortin Breland 6 Sept 1893--15 June 1965 buried at Pine Grove Baptist and he is buried in between two Winsteads (Essie and Genie). There isn't a Joseph but I have a Joe Melton "Pete" Breland married to Mary Jane Bates. could this be Joseph? I believe I have already sent you info on Martha Winstead Breland.
