I believe Jeptha E to be the son of James H Evans b 1826 S.C. and Martha J Harper Evans b 1826 AL. 1850 Shelby Co., AL has James H Evans 23 with Martha J Evans 23 and Leona 8 mo 1860 I can't find this family 1870 Shelby Co, Al has Martha J Evans 43 widow with Almyra 20, Jeptha 18, Eugene 16, Antonette 14, James 12, John 10 and Thomas 8. 1880 Millville,Lamar Co, AL Martha J 54 with Almira 30, John B 18, William T 16. Jeptha E 29, Alice 21 and Camilla 1 Eugene 26, Althear 21 and James D 4 mo James S 22, Elizabeth I and Anna 5 mo. Mattie 24, John H Farr 24 and Harrison I 4 mo Caroline Antonette Evans married John H Far Eugene Clark Evans was my Grandfather. My Mothers bible has some of Eugene's siblings as Jim, John Bell and a sister Mattie. He married Althear Mayfield and had James Demosthenes in 1880 Lamar and Fleda 1884 in Tx The only documentation I have is census's and Aabama marriage records
