Saw three posts dated Mar 07 regarding Jeptha Evans. I believe the Jeptha in the 1880 census in Millville is tha son of Martha J Harper Evans and James H Evans b abt 1827 S.C. James H died before 1870. Martha and all 7 of her children of from the 1870 Shelby Co census are in Millville, Lamar in 1880. 1850 census shows James H and Martha with new born Leona Alabama marriages shows a marriage of Jeptha Evans to Alyce Byrd on 24 Jan 1878 and another Jeptha to Martha Nichols 2 Dec 1875.Is this the sams Jeptha?
