Molly, We still call it Cotton Gin Port. Traveling west out of Amory on US Hwy 278, you'll find a Historical Marker denoting the area. My understanding is that the actual port/town was south of the marker along the Tombigbee River. Maybe other listmembers, more knowledgeable than I, will answer your question.
