    3. I would invite my great-great grandfather, John Haas (pronounced as Hass) to dinner and I would ask him the questions I've been asking for the past 20+ years First and foremost who is the Mary Ann listed on the 1850 census? Is she your wife? Is she really Lucy? If she's not Lucy where was Lucy in 1850? Was your wife's maiden name Tubbs? My grandfather John Franklin Haas was born in 23 Mar 1849 and his brother, James was born Sep 1845. James lists his mother's name in the family Bible as Lucy and recorded her death as 27 Aug 1851. Who are your parents? All the censuses say you were born in 1810 in TN and in 1810 there were four Haas men in TN all who named at least one son John. Are you the John who was a son of Amos who sold his land in TN and then disappeared? Or are the John who lived in TN and returned to NC to sell his father's land? Did you marry in TN? Or did you marry once you arrived in MS in 1839? Where is the Methodist Church you were pastor of? Last but not least - why did you let your land in Monroe Co be taken back for taxes? If you had sold it I would have the name of your wife !!!!
