I would invite my husband's great grandparents, Lorenzo Dow and Martha Lucinda Ritter Lyles. I have tried for many years now to prove that her parents were Robert T. and Sarah Elizabeth McDonald Ritter. In the 1850 census for Monroe County, Robert and Sarah Elizabeth were both still single and living at home with their parents. By 1854, they had their first child, John Ritter, so I am assuming they married early 1850's. Robert passed away in December, 1869, and Sarah Elizabeth and some of the children are found living next door to his parents in Franklin Co., AL, in the 1870 census. Unfortunately, Martha Lucinda must have been staying with relatives then, for she is not listed with the rest of the family. I have been unable to find this young family anywhere in the 1860 census -- my one hope for proof; Martha Lucinda was born in February, 1860. My mother-in-law has told me that her grandmother loved her grandpa Turner. At first glance, my husband's grandmother didn't have a grandpa Turner; I have since found that after Robert's death, Sarah Elizabeth McDonald married Francis Marion Turner in 1872. Everything fits; I just can't prove it. So, that would be my question -- who are the parents of Martha Lucinda Ritter Lyles? Happy Thanksgiving to all, Linda
