    3. I recently came across an old genealogy article of about 1960s from the Aberdeen Examiner in Aberdeen, MS Listed are some grandchildren of John W. Whitworth and his wife Mary R. Hutchinson and one of his sons. His son William Andrew Jackson Whitworth m. Oct. 24, 1844 to Sarah Ann Eikner in Monroe Co., MS and moved to Bastrop Co., TX (abt. 30 miles south of Austin) in the year 1772. In the year of 1890 the surviving children of Wm. Andrew Jackson Whitworth (d. abt 1885) and Sarah Eikner Whitworth included: 1) Mrs. Nancy A. Alsup, the wife of W.R. Alsup of Ellis Co., TX 2) Mrs. Sarah (Sally) A. Hays, the wife of D.A. Hays of Ellis Co., TX3) Mrs. Eliza D. Reed, the wife of J.M. Reed of Johnson Co.,AK 4) Mrs. Newell Small wife of Wiley Small of Grayson Co., TX 5) Mrs. Mary E. Alsup, wife of Lycurgus Alsup of Walker Co, AL 6) Jurian D. Whitworth of Bastrop Co, TX 7) Charles J. Whitworth of Bastrop Co., TX This article goes on to say that records indicate that other children of this couple are Amorilla Whitworth, Thomas Whitworth, William Whitworth, Albert Whitworth, Lucinda Whitworth and Jane Whitworth. I BELIEVE THESE CHILDREN ARE THE ORPHANED CHILDREN OF WM. WHITWORTH/ISOBELLA PEARCE --both parents died during the Civil War and they were primarily raised by maternal grandmother Ruth Pearce who worked as a housekeeper for a Sartor family. I am excited to see a possible connection of these children to the larger Whitworth family of that area. I believe them to be the half brothers/sisters of my greatgrandfather Cason Hill who also died very young. Cason Hill and Sarah Jane Guin married 1879 and lived at Smithville, MS. Her parents lived at Greenwood Springs, MS. My grandmother grew up an orphane and was raised by her maternal Guin grandparents. She knew almost nothing about her father's siblings so this has been a real brick wall for me. I have been told that the above child Wm. Whitworth walked to TX when he was abt. 13 and lived there the rest of his life. Thomas Whitworth's son married Hattie Cantrell and they lived in Amory, MS. Amorilla may have married a Bailey. That's as far as I have gotten. I would appreciate any help from anyone researching the Whitworth family or having any information to share. .
