Wayne, thanks for the info --I am a direct descendent of David Funderburk and Pricilla Pope thru their son Elijah (b.1819) and Harriet Melinda Nix (b. 1831, d. 1926 calhoun co, ms) married in Monroe Co. 7/31/1848. The Funderburks have been well-researched, but I have not been able to find Pricilla Pope's parents. Wanda, I am mostly "guessing" about my Nix family. I think Harriett Melinda Nix is the daughter of Moses Nix (b<1804> and Martha Malinda Harrell. Moses is the son of John Nix (d.1/12/1833) and I believe a descendent of the John Nix (b. 2/20/1611 England:; d. 1685 in Barbados) and Sarah Elizabeth Lewis. I have not looked at this in a long time and so much of it gleaned from other people. so I could be "off", Moses Nix's son Albert J. did marry Susannah Funderburk (b. 1834 in Georgia ) Is Absolom Nix a part of this family? Thanks for your help. Mary Marquis
Greetings, I've followed this thread with interest in the Funderburk line since there is a connection to my BOYD line in Monroe Co. Miss. I have Elijah Funderburk born in 1830, I do not have a wife listed for him, but I have one daughter, Margaret Ann, b. 1856, d. 1939. I do not have locations for this. Did I read your E-Mail correctly, is Harriet Melinda Nix the wife of Elijah? I do not have Pricilla Pope's parents, and another researcher of this associated line did not share her parents with me. Have you checked the Monroe County History book published in 1988 for the Nix family?? Would you share other Funderburk info with me. Sincerely, Jim Allen in Mississippi.
