    3. Jim, Dr. E.D. Boozer of Splunge attended my greatgrandmother, Nancy Jane Lay Thornton, in her final illness in 1918 in Weaver's Creek Bottom [between Parham and Splunge]. He made several house calls ($2 per visit) and sent medicine several times ($1 each). His bill/receipt signed by him was in her pension file --- I'm using that receipt Monday night at a talk in Vernon that I'm doing for the historical society. One day next week I hope to publish that bill/receipt from Dr. Boozer on the blog, Hill Country of Monroe County, Mississippi. Thanks for the information about the medical group of Boozers.
