Moses Hardy ABERDEEN - Moses Hardy, 113, died Dec. 7, 2006, at Care Center of Aberdeen. Services were Sunday at Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Orr officiating. Westbrook Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hardy was born Jan. 6, 1893. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was the oldest surviving veteran of World War I. After the war, he was a farmer and a sales representative for more than 40 years. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board. He is survived by his sons, Hayward Porter of Aberdeen and Alvin Hardy of Chicago; daughters, Thelma Turnley of Chicago, May Lou Graves of West Point and Evelyn Davis and Jean Dukes, both of Aberdeen; and several grandchildren, great-grandchidren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren.
