For Connie in particular - does your database show any of these Taylor names? Jessie Benton Taylor who married Ila Clements (Ila was the half-sister to my grandmother); Jeptha "Jep" Taylor who married Lula May West; John Reuben " Rubie" Taylor who married Lou Dorothy "Dot" Doss? I have documented information relating to these families and would be happy to share. John Reuben Taylor and his wife "Dot" Doss Taylor died both died near Salt Lake City Utah (in the 1960's) so they may have become Mormons. My great granny Etta Victoria TALOR and my grandfather (Robert Hezekiah Bellows) really looked it, but I am pale! What I KNOW is that my great grandmother, Etta Victoria TAYLOR(b. 23 Aug 1879 in Monroe Co, MS d. 26 Jan. 1968 in Sherman, Grayson co. TX although she lived all of my life in Ector, Fannin Co., TX), is the daughter of John Maryland TAYLOR (b. 26 Feb 1854 in either MS or SC d. Sept 1904 in Fannin co., TX)and Susan Annabelle Kirkpatrick (b. 17 Mar 1856 in Monroe Co. MS d 1908 Fannin Co. TX). John M. TAYLOR and Susan are buried at Carson Cemetery just north of Ector, Fannin Co. TX. John's place of birth listed as SC in the 1930 census of Etta Victoria BELLOWS in Collin Co, TX. It is listed as SC in 1880 census Athens, Monroe Co, MS. He may be in the 1850 United States Federal Census > South Carolina > Laurens > Laurens. This causes a problem with the birthdate unless they lost a son named John and renamed a child that name this one would be a twin for Mary Jane 1860 United States Federal Census > Mississippi > Monroe > Eastern Division Aberdeen PO 1870 United States Federal Census > Mississippi > Monroe > Township 14 Smithville PO 1880 United States Federal Census > Mississippi > Monroe > Athens > District 127 listed as JM 1900 United States Federal Census > Texas > Fannin > Justice Precinct 2 > 64 Family lore indicates that John M. TAYLOR's parents were Benjamin Jefferson TAYLOR(b. 6 Jan 1825 SC died 20 Feb 1877 in MS) and Rebecca OSBORN (b. 31 Mar 1821 SC d. 3 Jul 1913 MS.). Benjamin ould be the male child under 5 in the home of William Taylor 1830 United States Federal Census > South Carolina > Laurens > Not Stated could be in home of Samuel J Taylor 1830 United States Federal Census > South Carolina > Sumter > Not Stated A Benjamin is in the 1850 SC (Laurens Co)1850 United States Federal Census > South Carolina > Laurens > Laurens Jeff Taylor 1860 United States Federal Census > Mississippi > Monroe > Eastern Division Aberdeen PO Jef 1870 MS1870 United States Federal Census > Mississippi > Monroe > Township 14 Beeks Cemetery, Monroe Co., MS has TAYLOR, Jefferson---Jan 6, 1825---Feb 20, 1877 TAYLOR, Rebecca---Mar 31, 1821---Jul 3, 1913 I have no real proof that they are his parents. Also, these people are said to be Cherokee which is plausible coming out of SC. into MS. Family lore also says that in the enumeration and land distribution that took place in OK, my great grandfather tried to get his mother in law, Susan Anabelle Kirkpatrick Taylor to get on the rolls and get her land. She would not. Rebecca Osborn has been of some interest. I corresponded with a distant cousin who spelled the name Orsban. I believe I have found her in these records. 1850 United States Federal Census > South Carolina > Laurens > Laurens 1860 United States Federal Census > Mississippi > Monroe > Eastern Division Aberdeen PO 1870 United States Federal Census > Mississippi > Monroe > Township 14 1880 United States Federal Census > Mississippi > Monroe > Athens > District 127 1900 United States Federal Census > Mississippi > Monroe > Athens > District 71 Other children of Benjamin Jefferson and Rebecca TAYLOR may be: Mary Jane b. 1846 John b. 1846 William Jefferson TAYLOR b. 12 Sep 1848 Elizabeth b. 1851 Virginia b. 1852 Emily b. 1855 Monroe D. b. 1856 Oscar b. 1858 Thomas b. 1860 Debra b. 1862 Clayton b. 1868 Children of John Maryland and Susan Anabelle TAYLOR: Nettie D b. 16 Mar 1876 married James Albert Pierce Etta Victoria b. 23 Aug 1879 Winona May b. 29 Jan 1983 Tona b. Feb 1898 India Annice b. 1897 I know much more about the KIRKPATRICK family than I do the TAYLOR family. I hope you see something that is helpful or that you can confirm. Connie
