    3. Hello Mary Anna, It is nice to hear from you. Yes, I agree about maternal lines - Caroline seemed to be just "out there" and left out of all the families so it will be nice to have her included. Yes, I have been at this too long :-) I think your Thomas J Edge is the son of Wood Arthur Edge, the son of Thomas Leonard Edge, son of Thomas D. Edge....who settled at Greenwood Springs with his brother Hiram Edge in the 1840's. (Thomas James Edge Born 28 Aug 1910, Poteau, OK, Died, Sept 13, 1988, probably Amory, MS.) Thomas D Edge's son, Thomas Leonard left Monroe in the 1890's. Thomas Leonard married Rosa M. Wood in Monroe before they left. One of their sons, Wood Arthur, returned to Monroe - he shows in the 1930 census. Wood had a son, Thomas J Edge and three daughters. One daughter married a Parham. I am in touch with a descendent of Thomas D Edge who lives in TX. I know she will be delighted to hear about the connection. Please let me know if you are interested in more information on the line. Robin >Robin, thanks for sharing that information! We sometimes forget the >maternal lineage is also important. My husband is an Irvin descendant (Thomas, son of Rigdon). I encountered the Edge family while working on my husband's Cummings line. Earnest F. and Trudie Addington Cummings had a daughter, Inez, born 7 May 1916. She married Thomas J. Edge. They both died here in Monroe Co. in 1988. I never knew anything about Mr. Edge's family. Do you recognize his name as being in your family? 3. Robin, thanks for the Edge information and the offer to share more. We really don't have a direct line there. If you or the other Edge descendant would like a few more generations on the Cummings line, I'd be glad to sent it along.
