I apologize for interfering with another's request but could you tell me if there is any mention of the Ross family in your book? James Ross died 1821 in Monroe Co., and had children still living there. Thank you for your kindness in sharing. Jan
Dear Anne, I'm very sorry. I copied your message and put it in my WEBB folder--I thought! I don't know what happened. I have been reading the Monroe Co site looking for info on Walter WEBB and his children. He was married to my ggggreat-aunt, Ruhama SNIDER SEAY ATKINSON. I have discovered quite a bit, especially in the census and land records. Again, let me apologize, Estelle in Tuscaloosa AL ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anne S. I do not anything about the Funderbunks family but am related to Popes --at least one who would be connected to Monroe Co. My grgrgrandmother was a Pope. She was a daughter of Wm. Bennett Pope and married Jonathan Stephens. They were on 1860 census of Marion Co., AL, living near other Pope relatives. Nancy Pope/Jonathan Stephens moved on to Itawamba Co., and at least one of their children, Mark Stephens/Stevens, lived his life there. My grgrandmother was named Nancy and was listed as 1 yr.old on the 1860 census and the youngest of the 4 listed children. I feel sure she was not the last child as most families continued to grow past that number. She married Thomas Williams abt.1874 and they lived in Monroe Co., MS. Nancy Stephens Williams is buried at the Pickle Cemetery in Monroe Co. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, February 16, 2007 8:53 AM Subject: Re: [MSMONROE] MSMONROE Digest, Vol 2, Issue 10 > Jim Allen, > > I certainly will share anything I have- haven't looked at Funderburks in a > while and not that organized. RE: William Dyche Walton I am still searching for anyone who is able to find the Monroe County records concerning the murder my great-grandfather committed in Aberdeen a few years after the end of the War Between the States. I would love to have a copy of the transcript of the trial to see if it even comes close to the family lore. Has anyone ever come across these records before? I'd written to someone a few years ago, and the lead was promising, but that was pre-Katrina, so my records aren't what they should be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Greetings, I've followed this thread with interest in the Funderburk line since there is a connection to my BOYD line in Monroe Co. Miss. I have Elijah Funderburk born in 1830, I do not have a wife listed for him, but I have one daughter, Margaret Ann, b. 1856, d. 1939. I do not have locations for this. Did I read your E-Mail correctly, is Harriet Melinda Nix the wife of Elijah? I do not have Pricilla Pope's parents, and another researcher of this associated line did not share her parents with me. Have you checked the Monroe County History book published in 1988 for the Nix family?? Would you share other Funderburk info with me. Sincerely, Jim Allen in Mississippi. Hey Wayne, My mother Margaret Evelyne Rogers McCracken is relative of a Cora Easter. Mother's parents were Hugh Otto Rogers and Nellie Lucille Todd. Hugh was the son of Burnel Harvey Rogers (BH Rogers, also known as "Pa") Nellie's mother and father were Columbus Walter Todd {(Margaret Caroline Edge was his mother and William Byron Todd was his father)} and Margaret Marquilla Baker (Maggie) Her parents were Hugh Green Baker and Sarah Elizabeth Wood. Maggie was related to some Gordons. My daddy, Henry M. McCracken, was a descendant of Colemans, McCrackens, and others in and around Picken's County, Al. I think that we may be looking for some of the same folks. Hope to hear from you again, Carolyn McCracken Davis Wayne <[email protected]> wrote: Mary, I have some Funderburks in my line.
