    1. [MSMONROE] Jeptha Evans
    2. Glenda Todd
    3. I believe the Jeptha Evans who married Alice Byrd was the son of Thomas and Lucinda Webb Evans. Alice Byrd was born 16 May 1858 in Detroit, AL, just across the Monroe Co., MS Line. She was the daughter of John Kirk Byrd and Elvira Caroline Moore Byrd. Jeptha, Alice and a one-year old daughter, Camila, were listed on the 1880 Lamar Co., AL Census. If this Jeptha Evans was not the son of Thomas and Lucinda Webb Evans, I would be interested in the proof of who was. I have more information on the Byrd family if anyone if you are researching them. 3. Dr. W. A. Evans created a survey of Monroe County's white cemeteries in the mid 1930s that has been in the Evans Memorial Library for years. In 1980, the Columbus MS Library published this. I don't have a personal copy of it, but you could probably call either the Amory or Aberdeen library and get someone to do a lookup. My guess is that your ancestor is in the Old Aberdeen Cemetery, but I can't state that with any certainty. Jerry Anderson Harlow has a copy of the book, I believe. Her email is [email protected] but she's been having computer problems so she may or may not respond. Lori Thornton "Robert C.
