    2. Clare Herrick
    3. Hello, fellow researchers: When Ancestry.com migrated some of their census files to a new server about 4 years ago, they misplaced the 1880 Oktibbeha County Census images. All of them. Mona Tomlinson and I have been sending them messages for years asking them to fix it. I was told that Ancestry's computers "within" can see them when they click on the links. Would you please take the time to help me and other Oktibbeha County researchers make Ancestry find the images and put them where they belong? Ask anyone else that you know who has Ancestry.com if they would help us, please. Go to the 1880 census, and browse Oktibbeha County, Mississippi, and start clicking on the links. It will come up "Error Processing Image Request" as it has for years. In the Upper right hand corner there is a link to report an image problem. You don't have to do it for every page, just 1 or two pages for each Beat/township. Please help us make them aware its not just us who cannot see these images. Maybe if they get bombarded with enough Fix-It requests, they will do something about it. They don't have some of the links labeled right. There is no "Clay Township, incl. villages of Genoa and Martin " (Under Beat 1 and 'Not Stated') in Oktibbeha County, Mississippi. Thank you! Clare Herrick, CC Lowndes and Oktibbeha Counties

    3. Hi Ed Thanks for taking the time to reply, Amos was the first off his branch to immigrate to MS (he had cousins who went to Michigan and later a great niece, and another two distant cousins who settled in Texas) and he had no heirs to continue his line, I am keeping his memory alive via the book. I can tell reading the book he and his wife Julia were well loved for amongst their community. 2. Good morning McMinn surname is not listed in the will book-or in the Mother Monroe book. However there is a Vertical indexed file in the Evans Memorial Library in Aberdeen MS. That particular surname may be in there, I am 25 miles from there. There is a lady in Choctaw Co.Ms. that was compilimg the McMINN line. I have several of the McMinns in my family tree. Oktibbeha Co. MS. is a area to look into. I am looking for a Robert C. 3. Maria, Some years ago I answered a request from someone in England and found the grave of Rev. Amos Kendall here in Aberdeen. I don't recall if that was you or not. I'm secretary of the Methodist Church here in Aberdeen and will be happy to send you what information I can find in the church records. Please email me at the church with more details of the information you are seeking. I am looking for some historical/modern pictures of Aberdeen MS, possibly the Methodist Episcopal Church and vicarage if they are still standing or other buildings of this time frame. BUT they need to be free of copyright for publishing purposes. Does anyone have access to the Evans Memorial Library? 3. Maria, Dr. W.A.Evans writing in 1937 (work now collected in MOTHER MONROE, Hamilton, Mississippi: Mother Monroe Publishing Company, 1979, page 96) lists AMOS KENDALL twice. First, in a short discussion of the first Methodist Church in Monroe County, Mississippi, at Wise's Gap east of Quincy, AMOS KENDALL is listed as one the presiding elders of that church. Second, Dr. Evans states that the "Aberdeen church was first located on South Chestnut Street. From there, it was removed to its present location. The present is the third church building located there." And in a list of ministers who served there is the name AMOS KENDALL. I am not a member of the Monroe County Historical Society but I'm sure someone there has more about the Reverend Mr. Kendall and will come to your aid. Best wishes in completing your work about this early contributor to the development of Monroe County.
