Check out the Cabarrus County forum, too, since Mecklenburg was carved out of Mecklenburg County: http://genforum.genealogy.com/nc/cabarrus/ >From what my Canon-Alexander cousins are telling me, some of the Canons and Alexanders came into Tennessee from Mecklenburg Count, MC and some came to Mississippi. Quite a few descendants of both families ended up in Texas and Arkansas. I know that that's spreading you pretty thin, but sometimes, that 's what you have to do.
