This occurred with the reported death of Col. George Boggan Myers, of Marshall Co, MS. Although he did lose an arm in the War, he survived his wounds and being a POW to return to Marshall County, where he served as Circuit Clerk for a number of years. Although some printed sources state he died in 1879, his tombstone in Hill Crest Cemetery in Holly Springs, shows he died in May 1894.
