This may or may not be your Smith line, but Sally Smith McClure printed a book about her Smith family entitled Precious Memories. These Smiths lived in the Smith Community which, according to a hand drawn map, was 1 mile North of Waterford on Hwy 7 between Waterford and Holly Springs. Her father was Johnnie Smith, but I do not think he is yours as he was married to Mary Hardin. The name of his parents are not mentioned, but Sally Smith, born in 1912, was the oldest of 7 children, so you can probably assume that Johnnie Smith was not born before 1892. Other Smith familes (which I believe to be sibblings of Johnnie) mentioned are: Abram and Edna Smith Smith Aaron and Willie Jackson Smith Wesley and Lillie Bonds Smith Jim and Mattie Smith Young Walter and Artie Boren Smith Under Smith Military Record there is listed a Confederate war veteran, Sgt. Aaron Nathaniel Smith, Co. D Mississippi Infantry. I believe he may be the father of the Smith's listed above, but since the book does not state this, cannot be certain. It is a sweet book containing memories of each of the children of Johnnie and Mary Hardin Smith growing up on a farm in the early 1900s.
