You didn't give any dates for your Smith family in Holly Springs.................but for years I've been searching for information on any Smith Family in the same area of northern MS. My GG Grandmother was Ann Smith d/o John Smith of York Co. SC who married James Adair on Feb. 14, 1814 probably in York Co. SC. Their 2 sons, John Smith Adair and Andrew Jackson Adair moved to DeSoto/Tate/Marshall Co. MS after James died on March 22, 1851 in Memphis, Shelby Co. TN. and remained in the counties at least until the late 1880s. Ann Smith Adair died October 16, 1852 according to an entry in the family Bible and we 'presume' that she was with her 2 sons in northern MS. at the time. I've been told there were quite a few Smith families in the same area that were probably kin to Ann Smith but I've not been able to find any of them.
