The Yarbrough-Davis relationship came through Winifred D. Winson and maybe Mary Yarbrough. Winifred Davis of Wake Co., NC married Henry Yarbrough of Franklin Co., NC in 1817. He died in Franklin Co., NC in 1824. I believe estate records of Henry and James Yarbrough who died in 1815 show that this Henry Yarbrough is the son of James Yarbrough. There is also evidence that Charles Yarbrough of Marshall Co, MS is a younger son of James Yarbrough. Winifred D. Winston came to the same area of Marshall Co, MS in about 1841 with her children, Seth Green Yarbrough and Henry Eliza Ann Yarbrough (G.G.grandmother). Winifred's father is thought to be Jonathon Davis of Wake Co, Nc. He had another daughter, Mary Davis who married Thomas Yarbrough of Franklin Co, a brother or nephew of James Yarbrough. This could be the Thomas Yarbrough from Franklin Co., NC who moved to Fayette Co. NC and died there in the 1830's.! If so, Mary may have moved the short distance to Marshall Co, where she had relatives. Winifred was close to Eben Nelms Davis and Willie J. Davis of Marshall Co. Her daughter, Anna Eliza Phillips (G.G.grandmother) is buried in their Davis Cemetary. I have some information on the Davis's and Duke's in Warren, Franklin, and Wake Co., NC, and will be glad to share what I have if you will email me. We seem to have a common problem with these families.
