The Mary Davis I'm looking for was born c. 1826 in TN. She married William Peel (b. 1820 in AL). The 1850 Census has the Peels as neighbors of Charles Yarborough (b. 1801 in NC) and his family (wife named Sarah B.) The Peels were gone in 1860; their two children living with others in the area. Their son Hunter was with Peel kin. Their daughter Ellen was living with the Yarboroughs. The 1910 Census lists my g-grandfather Hunter Peel Alexander living with his "great aunt" Priscilla Duke Davis Hampton Lamb Lanier (PDDHLL). She was born in 1830 in LA and her mother's maiden was Yarborough. Does any of this make sense?
