My mind must have been on vacation. Please advise where this book may be purchased! ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, February 04, 2002 4:13 PM Subject: Re: [MSMARSHA-L] Courthouse MARSHALL COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI WILL & PROBATE RECORDS By Betty Wiltshire Probate records included in this compilation cover the years 1836 through 1862, with the wills included in the probate books. Probate records generally give the name of the deceased person, names and relationships of heirs, places of residence, etc. They also include records of guardianships of minor children, widow's dowers and inventory records. Inventory records include ownership of slaves, often giving names and occasionally ages and relationships of slaves. Due to the large number of slave listings, two indexes were necessary, one for each race. ==== MSMARSHA Mailing List ==== If you have any of these records to share, please send them to [email protected]: birth, marriage, death, obits, civil war, wills, church, cemetery listings, newspaper articles, photos, and/or historical info. ============================== To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237
