Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HKB.2ACI/2025 Message Board Post: Looking for any and all information on a John Henselwood who at the time of the 1860 Fed Census for Holly Springs, MS, was living there in a boarding house. His occupation was listed as having been a machinist, and he was 20 years old at that time, having been born in Scotland in 1840. At the start of the Civil War, he returned to Centralia (Marion) IL to enlist with the 48th Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment and served through the entire Civil War with that unit, and taking his discharge in Little Rock, AK at the end of the war, when the 48th Volunteer Regiment was disbanded there at Little Rock. After the war, he took employment with, I believe, the Illinois Central Rail Road and in 1968, three years after the end of the Civil War, he was killed in some type of railroad accident somewhere, it is believe, just a little north of Centralia, IL. Any information on this family member of any type, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a millioin.......................
