    1. Re: [MSMARSHA-L] Samuel Johnson family of Marshall Souny, MS
    2. Odessa
    3. Hi, Samuel and Mary "Polly" Johnson were uncle and aunt of my great grandfather Alexander G. Cook. On the 1850 MS Tippah county census both Alexander b. c1835 in AL and his father Hiram b. c1795 in VA were living with this family. On that census Mary and Samuel had two daughters who were living at home. They were Amanda b. c1830 in TN and Olivia b. c1831 in TN. I do not know anything about other children or how they are related to my grandfather Cook. Samuel and "Polly" were on the 1880 census in Marshall county. On the 1860 MS Marshall county census: Samuel Johnson 54 b. VA Mary C. Johnson 54 b TN Amanda Johnson 30 b. TN Olivia Johnson 28 b. TN James H. Scott 7 b. MS I would love to have any additional information that you can provide. My Alexander G. Cook married Elizabeth Jane Johnson. Her parents were Asceneth R. Myhand and William B. Johnson who were married in Dec. 1837 in Talbot Co., GA.
