In 1880 he was in Prentiss MS. He married twice 1)to his cousin Martha D. ROOK, dau. of Daniel ROOK and his wife Angelica and 2) Martha H. [---]. Children from the first marriage: 1) John Daniel ROOK b. 22 Dec 1841 MS d. 14 Sep 1902 TN m. Annie Elizabeth BUFFORD 25 Dec 1863 Marshall MS 2) Mary Elizabeth ROOK b. 6 Apr 1844 d. 9 Nov 1845 Marshall MS 3) James Nathan ROOK b. 14 Oct 1846 d. 9 Nov 1846 Marshall MS 4) Ruth L. ROOK b. 1847 MS D. 1876 m. Jim PATTER 5) Nancy L. ROOK b. 1847/1851 MS d. 1876 6) William H. ROOK b. abt 1853 MS d. 1862 7) Martha (Mattie) Peeples ROOK b. 14 Feb 1856 Marshall MS d. 10 May 1914 Victoria TX m. Hosea H. WEBBER 8) Thornton ROOK b. Jan 1860 MS d. 1863 9) Mary P. ROOK b. abt 1861 AR 10) Ida Lee ROOK b. abt 1863 m. M. C. BROWN 23 Jul 1879 in Alcorn MS It is believed that the following children were from the second marriage: 1) Alva ROOK b. abt 1867 AR m. A. H. SIEGRIST 24 Dec 1889 Alcorn MS 2) Susie B. ROOK b. Mar 1870 3) F. K. ROOK b. abt 1874 MS (dau) 4) A. T. ROOK b. abt 1877 MS (dau) 5) S. ROOK b. Nov 1879 MS (son) These last three children came from the 1880 Prentiss MS census. The child Susie B. (who does not show up on the census) came from another researcher who is now deceased. I do not know where or when Nathanial Peeples Rook died...or where he is buried. If there is anyone out there who has information on him or any of these children or their descendants, I would love to hear from you!
