According to Dale Potts Hollingsworths' Memories of Potts Camp, Elizabeth Brownlee's parents were James Brownlee, Sr. and Mary (Polly) Brownlee. Elizabeth was born September 22, 1811 in South Carolina. Her parents moved from the South Carolina "back country" to Monroe County, Mississippi (the south part of Lowndes County today) sometime during the year 1815.
