Topp of Holly Springs who lived on Salem Ave. and owned Airliewood. >From the 1880 census taken on June 4, 1880, it indicates he is alive, but bed-ridden, then a notice in the Southern Reporter (or it predecessor) reports in early January 1881, the "late", Dickson C. Topp. I have search the local Holly Springs newspaper and most of that period is missing, the Memphis Library, as he had a twin brother, Roberston, that lived in Memphis, Marshall County Court House for probated wills etc., and the MS. archives. Can anyone help me locate his death date? >From what I have said, he was alive on June 4, 1880, but dead early in January 1881, a span of some seven months. My "personal theory" is he died some time in June, July or August, but have no proof. Can anyone shed any light on this one? Jim Topp jtopp@midsouth.rr.com
