Eliz, Thanks for your reply. Yes! This could be her. Upon rechecking my file it says after 1849 (and I'm not sure how I derived that). I have very detailed information. Mattie married Horace Marvin Coleman (b. 29 aug 1878) about 1903, because his first wife, Cornelia Mason died in 1903 in childbirth and my grandfather was born to Mattie and Horace 8 Mar 1904. Family history has it that Mattie was the Stepdaughter of first wife Cornelia Mason. After the death of Mattie, Horace remarried for the 3rd and final time, but by then he had given my grandfather up for adoption. We are talking white and all occurred in Marshall County. Somewhere the name DeBerry figures in with Mattie -- don't know if it could have been her first marriage, but all info passed down says her maiden name was Jones. I have much more. Does this seem likley?
