    1. Re: [MSMARSHA-L] POTTS, BROWNLEE, & BREADY's in Marshall County, POTTS CAMP
    2. According to Dale Potts Hollingsworths' Memories of Potts Camp, Elizabeth Brownlee's parents were James Brownlee, Sr. and Mary (Polly) Brownlee. Elizabeth was born September 22, 1811 in South Carolina. Her parents moved from the South Carolina "back country" to Monroe County, Mississippi (the south part of Lowndes County today) sometime during the year 1815. Dale is not online, but loves to hear from any one connected to her line. if you are interested in contacting her, I can send you her mailing address privately. Her book also covers a brief history on Potts. I do have a scan of Colonel Erasmus Ferdinand Potts that I can send electronically if you want it. Sylvia Akin

Surnames: Kiser, Mosleys, McKinneys, Ingram Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HKB.2ACI/2029 Message Board Post: I am looking for the family of Robert (b. 1824) and Elizabell Mosley (b. 1836) Kiser of the Byhalia area. Robert and Elizabell (Isabell?) are believed to have had the following children: Joe Wooden (b. 1864), Meria (b. 1870), Robert (b. 1871) Illoth? (b. 1874), Cora (b. 1875), George (b. 1876) Johnnie (b. 1877) and Charlotte (b.1884). Charlotte is my great grandmother, married to Arthur McKinney. Oral family history indicates that Elizabell Mosley was a full blood Cherokee Indian, who was sold as slave in Ingram Mills to Dr. Sam Ingram, but this has not been substantiated. I have very knowledge of the Kisers and the Mosleys, any information would be helpful. Thanks Claudia

Her brother, Bradford, married Willie Ethel Richmond. Their children are Alma (b. 1890) and Augusta (b. 1897). The may have had a son, also named George, born 1891; but I am not sure. Surnames: McKinney, Echols, Kizer Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HKB.2ACI/2027 Message Board Post: I am looking for the ancestors and descendents of Henry and Harriet Echols McKinney of Byhalia MS (or nearby). I suspect that Henry had a brother named Solomon, who was listed in his 1876 marriage bond. Henry and Harriet had the following children: Della (b. 1878), Rena (b.1879), Arthur (1881-1960) Gable (b. 1886), Sylvester (b. 1860), Luther (b. 1893), Susie (b. 1894) and Haywood (b. 1897). Currently, we are not in contact with the descendents of Luther McKinney. All that I know about him is that he married Luanna (b. 1899) and they had a daughter named Martha (b. 1916) per the 1920 Census report. Family oral history indicates that some McKinneys may have relocated to Blytheville AR, and Hayti MO. If you have any information, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks Claudia

    2. I do not know anything about Joseph Smith Morgan's ancestors, but, if the Joseph Smith Morgan you refer to was b. December 6, 1804, died July 29, 1858 and is buried in the Morgan Cemetery in DeSoto County, Mississippi, I have little information on his wife, Clarissa Agnes Stone, b. December 23, 1825 in South Carolina. If this is your Joseph Smith Morgan, I will email you what I have on Clarissa Agnes Stone. I do know that there were two Morgan lines in Marshall County, Bethlehem/Potts Camp area. As far as I know, they are not related. Sylvia

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HKB.2ACI/2025 Message Board Post: Looking for any and all information on a John Henselwood who at the time of the 1860 Fed Census for Holly Springs, MS, was living there in a boarding house. His occupation was listed as having been a machinist, and he was 20 years old at that time, having been born in Scotland in 1840. At the start of the Civil War, he returned to Centralia (Marion) IL to enlist with the 48th Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment and served through the entire Civil War with that unit, and taking his discharge in Little Rock, AK at the end of the war, when the 48th Volunteer Regiment was disbanded there at Little Rock. After the war, he took employment with, I believe, the Illinois Central Rail Road and in 1968, three years after the end of the Civil War, he was killed in some type of railroad accident somewhere, it is believe, just a little north of Centralia, IL. Any information on this family member of any type, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a millioin.......................
